چکیده

Advanced measurement technology on boundary layer transition is an effective means to study the flow mechanism and performance of cascade. In this research, investigate transonic VKI-RG turbine cascade, a noncontact technique named temperature-sensitive paint (TSP) that capable quantitatively measuring surface temperature model used. Under conditions outlet Mach number (Ma2) = 0.4, 1.03, 1.2, transitional location cascade accurately measured by TSP technique. Moreover, numerical planar was conducted with (Ma) attack angle (α). The results show moved forward increase in Ma2 α at < 1; otherwise, backward increasing (Ma2 > 1). Lastly, strong adverse pressure gradient formed behind shock wave, which led beginning transition.

Boundary-Layer Detection at Cryogenic Conditions Using Temperature Sensitive Paint Coupled with a Carbon Nanotube Heating Layer

Detection of flow transition on aircraft surfaces and models can be vital to the development of future vehicles and computational methods for evaluating vehicle concepts. In testing at ambient conditions, IR thermography is ideal for this measurement. However, for higher Reynolds number testing, cryogenic facilities are often used, in which IR thermography is difficult to employ. In these facil...

Heat Transfer Enhancement of a Flat Plate Boundary Layer Distributed by a Square Cylinder: Particle Image Velocimetry and Temperature-Sensitive Paint Measurements and Proper Orthogonal Decomposition Analysis

The current empirical study was conducted to investigate the wall neighborhood impact on the two-dimensional flow structure and heat transfer enhancement behind a square cylinder. The low- velocity open-circle wind tunnel was used to carry out the study tests considering the cylinder diameter (D)-based Reynolds number (ReD) of 5130. The selected items to compare were different gap he...

Cooling Turbine Blades using Exciting Boundary Layer

The present study is concerned with the effect of exciting boundary layer on cooling process in a gas-turbine blades. The cooling process is numerically investigated. Observations show cooling the first row of moving or stable blades leads to increase their life-time. Results show that minimum temperature in cooling line with exciting boundary layer is lower than without exciting. Using block i...

Numerical Study on Randomization in Late Boundary Layer Transition

The mechanism of randomization in late boundary layer transition is studied carefully by high order DNS. The randomization was originally considered as a result of background noise. It was addressed that the large ring structure is affected by background noises first and then the change of large ring structure affects the small length scale quickly, which directly leads to randomization and for...
